Head for an ever more responsible year!

We do not become responsible overnight. Being responsible goes through concrete actions, which over time, strengthen a more global approach. This approach started in 2014 with the launch of our first responsible collection. The concept ? Reinvent your favorite parts using our remaining fabrics to offer them at a softer price in a zero spoiled approach. A few years later and thanks to your faithful welcome, we launch our 6th responsible collection! The ideal opportunity to take stock of our approach T.P.R (Always more responsible) and telling you more about what awaits you in 2019. Chrysoline, Artistic and co-founder director and Marie-Emmanuelle, Collection manager, answer all your questions.

What does "be responsible" means?

Chrysoline: "For us, it has become vital to create and act" responsible ", far from overconsumption. Our collections are produced in Europe on reasoned production channels. Our factories are real partners. Since 2014, we have been offering zero -spoiled collections using the falls of our fabrics. And recently, cotton lines from organic farming. This is part of a global approach, both an internal state of mind and actions carried out for our customers that follow us in this process. »»

Marie-Emmanuelle: "It is a personal conviction but also a leitmotif and above all a daily challenge. It is to think about each stage of the chain, to do things well: the choice of materials, our makers, ecologically optimize our production processes and, finally limit our waste and try as much as possible to recycle what we have could not avoid. "

And "T.P.R"?

Chrysoline: "T.P.R (always more responsible) because we can always do better and we will always work in this sense. »» Marie-Emmanuelle: “You can never be perfect. On the other hand, we can always do better! Besides, the whole textile industry becomes aware of its completely crazy gaps and innovations emerge all over the world and be "T.P.R. "It is also playing the sorcerer's apprentices with them to invent the clothes of tomorrow. »»

What measures have already been taken in this sense since the beginnings of Balzac Paris?

Chrysoline: “We have chosen to produce in France or in Europe in order to favor factories close to us for a limited carbon impact! Our products are transported by truck and are on reasoned production channels. This choice has been at the heart of our actions since our all beginnings! Very quickly, the responsible collections imposed themselves obvious in view of the fabrics stored in our factories! The right prices are also a priority, with an exclusively online distribution, we master our margins and are proud to offer quality products at an honest price. We want to be able to be transparent with our customers, there is no gray area in our factories or in our sourcing. And if we take the wrong direction we are able to turn back so as not to get lost. Internally, we went to "happy recycles" for our waste and we constantly reflect on how to be "always more responsible" in our daily actions, but also how to offer desirable and responsible fashion. »»

What were the challenges responsible for 2018?

Marie-Emmanuelle: “Balzac Paris has always had its clothes in European Union and the materials used in almost all are made in almost many. 2018 marked a stronger turning point: rethinking our material sourcing, working on labeled products and dismantling our value chains to better question and reassemble them. »»

What are the issues for 2019?

Marie-Emmanuelle: "Be always more responsible!" Still developing natural materials (organic cotton and linen for example), rethink our artificial materials (Tencel development and replacement of conventional viscose with ecological viscose), introduce recycled materials (sweaters, jeans, swimsuit), work Biodegradable leather and build short circuits. »» Chrysoline: "Head for the products responsible for the accessory! Big challenge that Marie-Emmanuelle and Maria-Rosa work with conviction. The road is long but we are sure that we can move the lines. »»

Your greatest pride in this T.P.R approach?

Marie-Emmanuelle: "To have the feeling of helping to make this industry that fascinate us cleaner. »» Chrysoline: "I am very proud of the Balzac Paris team which by personal conviction or not, wish to carry out this project and make Balzac a referent in the matter. We are authentic in our steps and transparent. We will never be purist but we all walk towards the same direction and for a team it is very motivating! »»

What advice would you give to customers to be T.P.R?

Marie-Emmanuelle: "Find out about the materials and conditions of making, make choices and assume them!" »» Chrysoline: "Buying well is thinking about the second life of the product! You will never be disappointed to have put the price in a quality and responsible product. Because even if you get tired of it, it will always make a happy second hand! »To discover the lookbook of our new responsible collection, it is by here.
