The sweetness of life of Alexandra, creator of Jeanne Paris

During the shoot of our April collection, we opened the doors of a haven of peace. A house in which the dried flowers invited themselves to the bathroom. This house is that of Alexandra, our host for a day ... Passionate about dried flowers, Alexandra knew how to give her house, a soul that looks like no other. And believe us, we felt at home! It is in this house and more precisely in his workshop that Alexandra created his bouquets before selling them on her online store: Jeanne Paris. Inspired by his sweetness of life and his generosity, we naturally asked him to share his story and his art of living with us: How was your passion for dried flowers born? "Shortly after buying this house, a friend came here and offered me a bouquet of dried flowers. I fell in love with this bouquet, these colors ... I was a little blocked on the dusty and a little dead side of the dried bouquets that I had seen in my life. Besides, I had the impression that we always saw the same varieties of flowers (dried), of which I was not particularly a fan. I started to take a serious interest in flowers in general, to buy all varieties, to try to dry them and to see what it was. At that time of my life, I wanted to stop my job as an artistic director, I wanted to be more often in the countryside than in Paris ... This interest in flowers has become a passion, to make them Dry, an obsession and it is quite naturally that I asked myself the question of making it my professional activity. »» What advice will you give us to flower our interiors ? "Ah !!! I'm still a little uncomfortable with "recipes" issues. As I am a total self -taught in this area, I work at "instinct". So I would say that there are no rules, sometimes, a single flower, a single color, is enough to decorate and give emotion. I believe in emotion, if you like a bouquet by looking at it so it's just ... A bouquet of flowers is also the vase in which it is installed and the place in which it is ... obviously !!!! A bit like a garment or a fashion accessory ... Everything is not going to everyone, a bouquet can be very beautiful but will not be consistent everywhere ... " Flowers, the art of life ? "Flowers are nature at home and it is soothing ... As I do not use any chemical process to keep flowers, even dried, they are" alive "and taken with their environment. »» Your house is a real haven of peace that inspires the sweetness of life ... What is your secret? " Thank you !! It touches me because this is exactly what my husband and I wanted, a simple, warm, welcoming house where people who come feel good. I really believe in sincerity and "coherence". It is a country house, in which we return most often with shoes full of earth, it would be incongruous to put carpet on the ground, even if the trend was "carpet", it would be ridiculous. I push the line a bit of course, but it is an important point, I especially not want a house where I ask people to remove their shoes when I get back, this simplicity participates in comfort ... In terms of decor, we preferred old materials, wood, stone, tomettes. Ancient furniture and objects, found. I'm not going to make a friend but I am not a reader of decorative or fashion magazines, they support me a little with their codes, their rules ... I find that it tends to standardize … ” The new collection of Balzac Paris is inspired by "the art of taking its time". Does that look like you? "I have always been very careful to spend a lot of time with my children, to take the time to cook, to take the time to be alone, to sleep a lot etc ... Nevertheless it was more difficult in Paris, when my children were small and that I worked a lot in an environment where everything goes very quickly. But I said "no" sometimes to favor this need for "time". Today in the countryside, I take the time to walk, to observe nature, I appreciate silence and that is very new. »» Your advice to take your time and appreciate the taste for real things? "Aie !!! Another "recipe" question. Maybe knowing how to say "no", to know how to say "no" to certain things is to know how to say "yes" to others better. And then cultivate his curiosity, I would never have thought of one day interested in flowers, gardening ... I exaggerate but I hardly knew that the countryside existed ... My parents transmitted a wonderful thing to me, curiosity ... Things, people and it allowed me to give up in me to surprise and change ... " Your essentials to escape you for a weekend in the countryside: A book ? ""All the sagan, which I would like to reread ... " A playlist? "Vienne" by Barbara "Secret Garden" by Bruce Springsteen SIA "Chandelier" "Elephant Gun" by Beirut Alanis Morissette's "Unplugged" album The album "Saturday evening on earth" Francis Cabrel Mumford & Sons' album "Babel" And Laurent Voulzy because it's Laurent Voulzy and it's like that !!!! An outfit ? “Jean, a t -shirt, a sweat shirt and birkenstock with or without socks. I really like clothes and accessories, I like all clothing styles when they are consistent with the person who carries them. I don't like disguise, I like sincerity. " A person ? "My husband, my husband, my husband." An activity ? "Visit all the towns and villages around the place where I find myself and taste the local cuisine." A place ? "Aveyron !!!!!! Domaine de Méjanassère in Entéygues sur Truyère, sublime !!! ” To discover the spirit of this place and our collection of April, we meet you here.
